Responsibility in Caring for the Image and Development of Nursing

The American Nurses’ Association Code of Ethics helps guide the nursing profession to remain a morally upstanding profession. Accountability and responsibility are necessary in your role. This week, you will look at the different challenges nurses face and your role in meeting those challenges. Using the learning materials and activities from this module, follow the instructions below:

Instructions – Write

Your initial response should address the discussion prompt(s) and demonstrate critical thinking. Your response should make personal connections, incorporate course learning materials, and include scholarly references to support your main ideas. Your initial post should be no less than 250 words and a maximum of 750 words. Post your initial response by Wednesday, 11:59 pm.

For the discussion this week, discuss the following:

• Describe the major challenges facing the profession of nursing.
• Discuss how nursing’s role in caring for the environment is related to health.
• Explain why accountability and responsibility are necessary in the professional nursing role when facing these challenges.

Instructions – Respond

Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts. Each response should be a minimum of 150 and maximum of 350 words. Your peer responses are due by Sunday, 11:59 pm

Respond to your classmates on a separate day and include:

• relevant question regarding your peer’s response,
• support your response with at least one peer-reviewed scholarly source.

Points will be deducted for not meeting above requirements. Information on what constitutes a substantive post can be found course syllabus.

Your discussion post is worth 80 points and will be evaluated using the attached rubric.
