Mr Jones is a 24 year old gentleman who is admitted to your unit with hyponatremia and DKA. He is ordered Humulin R as per sliding scale AC breakfast at 0800 hrs. Patient Blood sugar is 16 at 0745.

Temp 37.8      BP 110/65      P 88,     R 22   O2 sat 96 on RA.        No complaints of pain.
