Nursing Evidence Based Practice Research Article

1. Based upon the topic of interest for your EBP proposal (This is topic I chose: What assessment procedures should be followed to properly to access pain in patients with dementia?) choose a nursing research article (current within 5 years) identify the name of the article and answer each one of the following questions

-Is this a quantitative or qualitative research article?

-What are the problem and purpose of the research article?

-What are the hypotheses or research questions/objectives of the study?

-What is the quality of the literature review?

-Is the literature review current?

-Is the literature review relevant?

-Is there evidence that the author critiqued the literature or merely reported it without critique?

-Is there an integrated summary of the current knowledge base regarding the research problem, or does the literature review contain opinion or anecdotal articles without any synthesis or summary of the whole?

-Is a theoretical or conceptual framework identified?

-If so, what is it?

-Is it a nursing framework or one drawn from another discipline?
