Health and Medical Question

I’m working on a health & medical question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

The teaching experience is two parts: verbal and written

The paper is about the teaching you gave or will provide mother and family

Please use headings to organize your paper

  • Title page
  • Introduction: summary of what the paper is about and a little about your patient and topic you taught
  • Nursing diagnosis NANDA (1)
  • Learning Objectives (2)
  • Methodology (verbal, written, demonstration and teaching aids: handouts
  • Patient evaluation (also mention resources used if any) how did you evaluate the patient
  • Learning theory (which learning theory would support your teaching plan)
  • Conclusion (overall how was the teaching experience)
  • References

There is no need to create a pamphlet, PPT or handout use what is already out there from a reliable source. You may use a handout to guide you when teaching.

Example for a well, organized paper please USE HEADING:

Introduction

Nursing Diagnosis
Parents of infants are at risk for knowledge deficit, related to decision making about co-sleeping and safety measures, as evidenced by patients stating concerns about the process.

(Chapman & Durham, 2013)

Learning objectives

  1. Patient will demonstrate and verbally communicate…….
  2. Patient will verbally communicate her likes and concerns…….

Methodology

Teaching patients verbally, allows them to stay engaged and develop a relationship with the patients so you can start to develop trust with them. Written ……..Offered handout……..

Patient Evaluation

Patients repeated back to me what I taught them. They emphasized key terms that I told them about and explained why it was emphasized. Patient had a few questions……..or information reinforced or pt states she did not have any further questions and now understands…….. these are examples of possible pt evaluations you did
Learning Theory

I believe cognitive theories would support my teaching plan because it focuses on the state of behavior to indicate whether learning is taking place within the patient’s mind (Theories of Learning, 2013). If the patient does not or cannot understand the concept behind the information, her behavior would appear confused or distracted. However, since my patient’s behavior appeared focused and attentive, she was learning as a result.
