ASSESSMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL QUALITY ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

OVERVIEW
As the project leader who is making plans to implement a project in a particular setting, it is an
important part of the organizational assessment to identify the past accomplishments as well as
challenges of the organization. Take the time to learn how the organization has been successful
and how the challenges have been managed. There are tools for planning that are also helpful in
developing intentional efforts for successful implementation.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Address the nine questions that are posed below. Rewrite each question and answer the
questions completely as it pertains to your scholarly project. Cite references as
appropriate using current APA format.
 How do stakeholders describe and measure quality in this organization or functional
unit? Are there a set of metrics that tie to the mission and performance expectations?
How were they chosen and who owns the data?
 What quality improvement activities are underway in the organization or functional
unit? Are there competing or complementary priorities? Is there already an
investment in this effort? Are there boundaries or contingencies of importance?
 What are the quality goals of the group [or organization]?
 Has the group [organization] been successful in it quality improvement efforts? What
would the group [organization] consider to be its significant accomplishments? How
were they achieved? What was learned? What was valuable?
 Have there been failures in the work or quality improvement? What was learned?
What ought not to be repeated?
 What are the baseline measures of quality before the project begins?
 What is the level of quality below which performance must not fall?
 How is benchmarking accomplished?
 Who are the experts? Who are the stakeholders?
2. Reproduce the chart entitled: Responsibility chart for managing the integrated work of
diverse team members in a MS Word document. This will profile the importance of those
who will have responsibility in supporting the scholarly project.
3. Education of frontline nurses or other stakeholders may be required as a part of the
scholarly project. After completing the assigned reading reproduce the table entitled:
Tool for Planning Instruction in a MS Word document. This will guide you in developing
a plan for education/instruction.
4. Include additional references as warranted using current APA content.
5. Combine this assignment with the assignment developed in Module 7: Week 7
(assignment 5).
6. Have one title page and reference list using current APA format.
7. Submit this assignment in your portfolio.
