Why?Criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>150 words minimum for each post (excluding quotations and citations)<\/li>\n<li>Include at least one paraphrased quote from in each response to a classmate to support your ideas.<\/li>\n<li>response should be based on peer\u2019s post .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Peer \u2018s post (Confidence\u00a0is the feeling\u00a0or belief\u00a0that\u00a0one\u00a0rely\u00a0on someone\u00a0or something; firm trust. After reading\u00a0the story, \u201cDesiree\u2019s Baby\u201d\u00a0it displayed\u00a0different situations where Desiree\u2019s confidence took place.\u00a0Desiree and her husband\u00a0Armand\u00a0seem to have an awkward relationship until she ended up having a baby.\u00a0The baby was a great factor to her husband because he wanted a boy more than anything. However, Desiree\u00a0thought in the back of her mind that he wouldn\u2019t have been so happy if the baby was a girl. The two of them\u00a0were distant at some point to where her husband wanted her to leave because he found out\u00a0about her race.\u00a0Chopin made a valid point relating to Armand not even knowing the truth,\u00a0\u201cI thank the good God for having so arranged \u00a0our lives that our dear Armand will never know his mother, who adores him, belongs to the race that is cursed with the brand of slavery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Desiree believed in her heart that she was white until she called he mother and told her about the incident with her husband. So,\u00a0Desiree\u2019s\u00a0mother told\u00a0her to just come home with no explanation. After Desiree asked her husband if that\u2019s what he wanted also he said yes basically. Desiree left home and went out into the\u00a0field and didn\u2019t return home at that time she was devastated with her husband not wanting her anymore.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Also,\u00a0Torres the author of \u201cIn Praise of Latin Night\u00a0at the Queer Club\u00a0shared an amazing story of how the world view\u00a0homosexuality and it\u2019s not acceptable to some. In this story Torres writes about\u00a0a brown shade of skin and many other skin colors that want to be free and\u00a0have fun in their own world and live. Not to live in this world where there\u2019s judgment and politics on\u00a0homosexuality is a sin and\u00a0you\u00a0are going to hell.\u00a0An example, \u201cPeople talk about liberation as if it&#8217;s some kind of permanent state, as If you get liberated and that&#8217;s it, you get some rights\u00a0and that&#8217;s it, you get some acknowledgment and that&#8217;s it, happy now? But you&#8217;re going back down into the muck of it everyday; this world constricts.\u201d\u00a0Corporate America\u00a0is still what it is if\u00a0something is different than the ordinary than it\u2019s not right to certain people.\u00a0It\u2019s sad if you don\u2019t look a certain conservative way or skin color that you are shy upon\u00a0and what Torres shared about is people sexuality which has nothing to do with who a person is. A lot of people miss out on meeting a wonderful person\u00a0or getting to know someone because they don\u2019t approve of their sexuality.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Respond to \u00a0classmates.
