You will create a report and export it as an HTML format. Additionally, you will make a screenshot of the HTML document and paste it into a new Access form.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Start \u00a0\u00a0Access and open the file <em>Student_Access_9G_Monthly_Promotions.accdb<\/em> \u00a0\u00a0downloaded with this project.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Create \u00a0\u00a0a table in the database by importing the downloaded Excel workbook named<em> a09G_Customers.xlsx<\/em>. Indicate that \u00a0\u00a0the first row contains column headings. Change the data type for the Postal \u00a0\u00a0Code field to Short Text and let Access add the primary key.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Continuing \u00a0\u00a0with the wizard, name the imported table as <strong>9G Customers<\/strong>. \u00a0\u00a0Do not save the import steps.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Open \u00a0\u00a0the 9G Customers table, apply Best Fit to all columns. Save and Close the \u00a0\u00a0table. Merge it with the existing Microsoft Word document <em>a09G_Promotions_Letter.docx<\/em>. The \u00a0\u00a0recipients will be selected from the existing list in the 9G Customers table. \u00a0\u00a0Verify that Show\/Hide is active. Place your insertion point at the beginning \u00a0\u00a0of the fifth blank line after the current date. Add the Address Block, and \u00a0\u00a0click OK. Insert the First Name and Last Name fields between the space and \u00a0\u00a0the colon in the salutation line. Place a space between these fields.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Preview \u00a0\u00a0your letters and Complete the merge for only the eighth record. With the Word \u00a0\u00a0document displayed, use the Snipping Tool to create a screenshot of the \u00a0\u00a0screen, and then Save the file as a JPEG using the file name <strong>MergeLetter<\/strong>. Close the document, and Close Word.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In \u00a0\u00a0the database, on the Create tab, click Form Design to create a new form in \u00a0\u00a0Design view. Under Form Design Tools, on the Design tab, in the Controls \u00a0\u00a0group, click Insert Image, and then click Browse. Navigate to the location \u00a0\u00a0where you saved the <em>MergeLetter<\/em> \u00a0\u00a0screenshot, and double-click it to insert the image file in the Detail \u00a0\u00a0section of the form. Save the Form as <strong>9G Merge<\/strong>. \u00a0\u00a0Close the Form.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Create \u00a0\u00a0a table in the database by importing the downloaded tab-delimited text file \u00a0\u00a0named <em>a09G_Monthly_Promotions.txt<\/em>. \u00a0\u00a0Use the first row of the file as field names, and let Access add the primary \u00a0\u00a0key.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Continuing \u00a0\u00a0with the wizard, name the imported table as <strong>9G Monthly \u00a0\u00a0Promotions<\/strong>. \u00a0\u00a0Accept all other default options.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Create \u00a0\u00a0a simple report based on the 9G Monthly Promotions table that will open in \u00a0\u00a0Layout view.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Add \u00a0\u00a0the downloaded <em>a09G_logo.jpg<\/em> file \u00a0\u00a0as a logo to the report header. In the Title of the report, add <strong>Liberty Motors<\/strong> in front of the title, and then move <em>9G Monthly Promotions<\/em> to a second \u00a0\u00a0line.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>View \u00a0\u00a0the report in Design view. Set the Size Mode property of the logo control to \u00a0\u00a0Zoom. Set the width of the control to <strong>1.5 <\/strong>inches \u00a0\u00a0and set the height to <strong>0.5<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0inches. Delete the Date and Time controls. Resize the report to 6.5 inches \u00a0\u00a0wide. Save the report with the default name.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Export \u00a0\u00a0the report as an HTML Document. Open the destination file after the export is \u00a0\u00a0complete, accepting all other default options. Use the Snipping Tool to \u00a0\u00a0create a screenshot of your screen, and save the file as a JPEG using the \u00a0\u00a0file name <strong>HTMLReport<\/strong>. \u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0Create a blank form in Design view and then, in the Detail section, insert \u00a0\u00a0the image file, <em>HTMLReport<\/em>, into \u00a0\u00a0it.
