You may adapt any previous \u00a0\u00a0assignments and lesson plans in the creation of this mini-unit plan, \u00a0\u00a0as long as the lessons form a planned cohesive unit. The unit plan \u00a0\u00a0will focus on government and economics of the selected country, U.S. \u00a0\u00a0and world history (comparing the selected country to the U.S), and \u00a0\u00a0geography and social studies of the selected country. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Use the \u201cClass Profile\u201d for background information on \u00a0\u00a0your students in order to differentiate to meet the diverse needs of students.<\/p>\n<p>Design the unit plan so that it:<\/p>\n<p>Develops students&#8217; abilities to make informed decisions in a \u00a0\u00a0culturally diverse democratic society and interdependent world.<\/p>\n<p>Integrates visual arts to promote communication, inquiry, and engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Incorporates responsible use of media, digital tools, and resources, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Virtual pen pal options with students from the selected \u00a0\u00a0country.<\/li>\n<li>Safety measures for using the Internet in the \u00a0\u00a0classroom.<\/li>\n<li>Research of performance and visual arts of the \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0selected country.<\/li>\n<li>How students can communicate and \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0collaborate with students of other cultures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Part 2: Rationale<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Along with the unit, submit a 250-500 word rationale that explains \u00a0\u00a0the reasoning behind your instructional strategies and choices. \u00a0\u00a0Explain how you will use your findings in your future professional practice.<\/p>\n<p>APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Details:\u00a0 Throughout this course, you have had the opportunity to research and \u00a0\u00a0implement a learning activity that is cross-curricular with social \u00a0\u00a0studies and the arts, along with appropriate instructional strategies, \u00a0\u00a0questioning strategies, and differentiation.
