DNP and PhD nurses both bring different yet complimentary perspectives to policy enactment and revision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is Part 2 of the 2-week group project. You will continue in your same group to prepare a 15-20-minute electronic presentation, or 30 professionally appearing slides (such as PowerPoint) for class viewing that illustrate a contemporary health-related public policy or professional clinical practice-related policy issue impacting advanced nursing practice. Content should include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>clear evidence supporting policy enactment or change (this will be a brief review of the policy topic paper)<\/li>\n<li>feasibility<\/li>\n<li>ethical considerations<\/li>\n<li>barriers to change<\/li>\n<li>identification of facilitators<\/li>\n<li>key stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>role of the graduate degree nurse in the proposed policy and analysis processes<\/li>\n<li>risks associated with the status quo vs risks associated with changing<\/li>\n<li>the impact on nursing practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other potential topics, depending on the policy issue chosen could include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>social determinants of health related to the chosen issue<\/li>\n<li>interprofessional\/transdisciplinary initiatives in addressing the issue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For slide presentations, slides must be readable and visually appealing\u2014not overly crowded.\u00a0 The presentation should indicate each group member\u2019s contribution either evident through speaking (if applicable) or acknowledged on a slide at the end of the PowerPoint presentation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview Health policy aimed at promoting the health and well-being of our society is\u00a0based on translation of current research.\u00a0 It is often in need of updating based on the contemporary and\/or political context.
