Reading reports should be 300-500 words in length. They should be carefully written in an appropriately academic style. The report should highlight the key points in the reading. It is important to convey these points with a degree of depth and detail. Where appropriate, short quotation from the article may be used. Quotation should be followed by some explanation or analysis to convey what you think is the significance of what you quote. It is also appropriate, if you wish, to include a personal view about the reading. This should not be merely a subjective judgment but should include explanation and justification for your view.<\/p>\n
Note that some weeks have two readings. In these cases the report should relate to both the readings and might include an attempt to relate the readings to one another.\u00a0Specific week have the readings in Hebrew, you can choose to read either.<\/p>\n
The reports will initially be graded pass\/fail. Reports which are adequate in terms of length, detail and substance will receive a pass grade. At the end of the course an overall assessment of the quality of your reports will be made. This assessment will account for 10 out of the 50 grade points for the reading reports.<\/p>\n
