The Essentials of Doctoral Education <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for Advanced Nursing Practice (2006) addresses the understanding of DNP students to utilize <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">patient care technology for the improvement and transformation of health care. The informatics <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">technology project will allow the DNP student to identify a relevant technology for improving <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">practice, patient care delivery and outcomes. The student will examine workflow design related <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to the chosen technology along with evaluation related to impact on policy, procedures and\/or <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">organizational protocols. As a result of the chosen technology for the project, the student will <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">present the research and information learned to classmates. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">I<\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">NSTRUCTIONS<\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The student will create a detailed workflow design for the evidence-based practice informatics <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">technology being developed for his\/her organization. For the purposes of this paper, include a <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">workflow task analysis, workflow map or framework (include a visual representation and <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">discuss), along with risks associated with the technology and a data collection plan. <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Items to include are outlined as follows:<\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\uf0b7<\/span> <span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">5 \u2013 7 pages of content excluding the title page and references. <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\uf0b7<\/span> <span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Current edition of APA format <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\uf0b7<\/span> <span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Minimum of 5 articles published within the last 5 years<\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\uf0b7<\/span> <span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Acceptable sources: Scholarly resources (peer reviewed and or evidence based); textbook <\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and the Bible. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OVERVIEWThe doctoral student will complete a formal paper addressing implementation of a technology project suitable to his\/her workplace\/practice.
