The purpose is not to<br \/>create a specific instrument with which to collect performance information.<br \/>Part I: As prework for this assignment complete an analysis of the requirements for<br \/>your position, carefully review the assigned readings, and conduct additional research<br \/>published in the Leading Business, Management, &amp; Technology journals to help<br \/>strengthen your understanding of the rationale for and characteristics of an excellent<br \/>performance appraisal system.<br \/>Part II: If you choose, use the week 5 conference topic entitled &#8220;Optional<br \/>Performance Appraisals Discussion&#8221; to share questions, challenges, ideas, and<br \/>research findings that may help all members of the cohort design and defend the best<br \/>possible performance appraisal system for their current or desired job.<br \/>Part III: Personal self assessments: Review the results of previous self-assessments<br \/>you have completed and any of those below that might be relevant and important for<br \/>your performance appraisal system. Incorporate findings from your reflections and<br \/>analysis in the system you recommend<br \/>Part IV: Using Cascio&#8217;s Chapter 9 as your guide, describe and defend the<br \/>performance appraisal system you propose for your position, being sure it addresses<br \/>all concerns and meets all key requirements discussed by him and by other scholarly<br \/>experts. Use the following format and headings:<br \/>Title Page (APA style)<br \/>I. Introduction:<br \/>II. Context: Briefly (one paragraph) describe the position and its key responsibilities.<br \/>III. Summary of Relevant Expert Knowledge (also known as a &#8220;theoretical framework&#8221;):<br \/>Summarize the main purpose and requirements of an effective performance appraisal system. This<br \/>establishes and supports the criteria you applied when designing the appraisal system discussed<br \/>below. Use Cascio&#8217;s chapter 9 as a primary source for this. Incorporate further support for key<br \/>points with references to current relevant work published in the leading business and management<br \/>journals (see approved list in class conference).<br \/>IV. Proposed Performance Appraisal System: Describe and defend the approach and system you<br \/>propose including attention to key requirements for an effective system, to potential legal issues,<\/span><\/p>\n<p>and protection against common issues and rating errors.<br \/>V. Conclusions: Summarize your conclusions and recognize any relevant limitations.
