Outbreak Paper Outline Assignment

Overview

By now, you have chosen your disease outbreak and have started researching it. For this Module:
Week you are asked to compile an overview of the survey you have been working on, as it
relates to the condition you are tracking. As a DNP prepared nurse, the focus of this assignment
is to review the therapeutic measures as it relates to managing an outbreak. The instructions
specifically include the discussion of the key outline points.
INSTRUCTIONS
Your outline must include the following:
 7–10 pages including title and references
 Cover page
 Current APA format
 Reference list of articles for inclusion in your Outbreak Paper in current APA format
 In addition to the reference list, citations must be included in current APA format within
each section of the outline
 The Full Sentence Outline per current APA format as demonstrated at the OWL Perdue
Online Writing Lab website
 Format your outline to include the following sections in your paper:
o Pathogenesis including Mode of Transmission—the source or cause of an illness.
Include Epidemiologic Triangle.
o Natural History of the Disease—the course of the disease.
o Case Definition for the outbreak.
o Prevention.
o Therapeutic Control Measures.
o Treatment Pharmacology if available.
o Sequelae.
o Scriptural Perspective that will impact control measures and/or comfort measures.
o Conclusion regarding current ability of public health/healthcare to handle this
disease outbreak.
It is understandable that the reference list will evolve as you work on your paper.
