Writing Your EMA
Follow the structure given below to organise your EMA.
Introduction (100 words)
Briefly describe why you have selected your chosen summary account and outline what it is about. Is it, for example, about a visit to a man with learning disabilities to assess his needs and preferences in which you participated in high quality, person-centred care, or does it demonstrate how you provided high quality, person-centred care while assisting an older person to eat?
Main body of the assignment (800 words)
In this part of your assignment you must identify and discuss the relevant knowledge and skills required for this episode of care, drawing on the module materials and other sources of evidence that are appropriate to support your argument. Block 1, Unit 4 discusses person-centred care and gives examples of some of the necessary skills you might use. There is plenty more on person-centred care throughout the module. The Open University online library and your workplace are also useful sources of evidence about how high quality, person-centred care can be delivered.
Conclusion (100 words)
Outline what you have learned from analysing this episode of care and consider the implications for you in delivering high quality, person-centred care in future.
