Materials Used in Engineering Field

Task
As an individual, you are assigned to write a research paper on the materials used in an engineering field. Although it is not required, if you have decided which field of engineering you would like to pursue a career in, it is highly suggested that you pick that field of engineering.
Guidelines:
The paper should clearly describe the materials that are critical in their chosen field of engineering
The paper should explain why those materials are used in the field, and include a history of its development, refinement, and application in the field.
The paper should describe and analyze the materials’ properties, crystalline structure, etc. that are beneficial for their selected application
The paper should describe how a future engineering professional in that field would select materials for a project, and characteristics would be most important to them, and why.
The paper must:
Be 5 – 10 pages long
Include a cover page
Include literature references (at least 10 primary sources)
Include descriptive and clearly labeled figures as needed
Formatting:
Double spaced
Line numbered
Page numbered
12-point Times New Roman
All acronyms must be clearly defined on their first usage
All in-line citations and bibliography should be in Chicago style
