Nursing theory, model and framework

This discussion board is your chance to discuss different theories and models of nursing. Using the learning materials and activities from this module, follow the instructions below.

Instructions – Write

Your initial response should address the discussion prompt(s) and demonstrate critical thinking. Your response should make personal connections, incorporate course learning materials, and include scholarly references to support your main ideas. Your initial post should be no less than 250 words and a maximum of 750 words.

Select a nursing theory, model, or framework from this module’s readings and activities you feel fits your values and nursing practice. In your post, address the following: 

1. Briefly summarize your selected theory, model, or framework, and associate the influence it on the development of the nursing profession. 
2. Discuss why the theory, model, or framework fits your values and nursing practice. 
3. Provide 2-3 professional examples that show how you apply (or could apply) this theory, model, or framework in your nursing practice. Professional examples may include work experiences, past clinical experiences as a nursing student. 
4. Provide rationale for your response with at least one scholarly source using an APA in-text citation.

Instructions – Respond

Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts. Each response should be a minimum of 150 and maximum of 350 words.

Respond to your classmates on a separate day and include:

• relevant question regarding your peer’s response,
• use supportive documentation to expand the discussion on the theory, model, or framework discussed in your peer’s post.

Points will be deducted for not meeting above requirements. Information on what constitutes a substantive post can be found in the course syllabus.
